Modest dressing is choosing classy alternatives to the trends we see in magazines. The media always hits us with the extremes of the world, and since we are all striving to not live in a way that is of this world we are called to put a little extra effort into the way that we adapt those trends into respectable fall fashions. It is a wonderful practice that gives value to yourself and the body that God has in trusted you with, as well as preventing any stumbling from our brothers in Christ. Most men I talk to will tell you that modest really is hottest, and they respect girls who respect themselves. I am going to use this blog as a way to post modest fashion options that are unique and beautiful. I hope that the women of Point Loma will take these suggestions and put their own spin on things!
- This whole outfit is classy and adorable. Blouses with ties at the neck add interest and texture without being too revealing.
- High waisted skirts that fall right above the knee are a comfortable length.
- These are two light, summer dresses with a natural waist. They are both gorgeous and feminine while still being modest, adding a fun belt is a great way to accessorize! Just watch out for the length of the skirts if you are tall :)
- Skirts with a little bit of added length are in this season. The mini skirt is fading away and the midi (skirt that hits you mid calf) is in!
- These skirts can be flowy or form fitting and go with all occasions.
- Make sure that you wear and appropriate underskirt, or some cute bike shorts if you choose a sheer style skirt.
- Colored bottoms are very chic right now, and can really play up the preppy look.
- Layering for the fall months is always a good idea and allows you to add more colors and prints to your look.
- The peplum top in the right is a very historical silhouette that is making a comeback.
- Peter Pan collars, wide legged trousers, and tucked in shirts oh my!
- Cuff your jeans, thrown on a blazer and pick up some chunky necklaces
- Fringe purses are just too fun to ignore
